Before moving on to my own character, which is going to be a seven year old girl (just like Megan), I am going to research what is already out there in terms of style. I've got a huge collection here of different children characters, either 2D or 3D, each one with a unique style that makes them stand out as personalities and designs.
I guess the first thing that character designers make sure to accomplish is to design a distinctive silhouette of their character and then move on to the rest of the details. Making something look cute and innocent might be an easy part of the process but designing a special character is bound to be the hardest bit.
