I.O.R UNIT 4

Hello Phil!
The first 2 weeks of this project have been really exciting to me. This time I've been trying to enjoy myself more rather than panic like in the last project. As for my story, I hope I am heading the right way but I would like to hear your helpful feedback to make any possible changes. Oh and I hope my requirements (treatment, logline etc)  are not short and have been approached right ^^

  1. Interim Online Review 15/02/2011

    Hey Andriana,

Thank you for such a neat and tidy IOR. I've been feeding back all day and there's still more to go, so my eyes thank you.

Okay - well, you'll be pleased to hear that I 'laughed out loud' when I got to the end of your story; in fact, I loved the 'flame out/kilt up' resolution - and it almost feels as if your final short should, in fact, be a black and white photograph of the moment - with a flashbulb-style transition - the poor Scottish guy's shame caught forever on film - with one of those black strips to protect his modesty! I like the dynamic opening too - with the American making his entrance via parachute. Yes - I think you can progress with confidence - but expect the story to modify again as you get into the storyboarding phase.

In regard to your essay proposal; yes, you're clearly creating a proper context for your analysis of Silence of the Lambs via Hitchcock - but please give your style some thought and attention. You're doing the classic waffly thing of stating the obvious and using lots of words you don't need: for example you write "... research was done into a book called After Hitchcock...' aargh!

You don't 'do research into a book' - you read books (otherwise known as research) so - consider instead 'Sources exploring Hitchcock's influence on the film's of Jonathan Demme are After Hitchcock...'

Just take out any useless 'then I did this to research that' flab - you don't need it.
