Last live drawing lesson was a lot different to what we used to do. We were asked to draw our attention away from the model and draw whatever is surrounding it, in other words this task was based on the idea of negative space. So what happened was that even though the figure was not drawn at all, its silhouette was still standing out because of the contrast created between the dark shadows and the blank figure. The task was quite tricky but I was amazed how differently every student perceived it.
